I provide coaching services for anyone wanting to work on their Life 2.0 skills or related activities. I also provide coaching for career, writing and artistic development. I generally do this by phone, Skype and similar electronic means wherever you are in the world. Under some circumstances, I do coaching in person for those living near me.

As a licensed therapist, I also provide counseling services either in person, by phone, Skype and similar electronic means for those residing within California. I do not providing counseling to those outside of my state (and no asking nicely, or even not so nicely, won't change that; so please don't do it).

If you would like to pursue coaching or counseling with me please contact me.

If you are thinking about suicide, are worried about a friend or loved one, or would like emotional support and want immediate help, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8225. You can also chat with them 24/7. Veterans can text 838255. Your call will be confidential and free.

What's different between coaching and counseling?

Coaching is intended to help you clarify your goals, implement your values and work through the nuts and bolts of prioritizing and getting things done. Sometimes this is about healthy inner transformation and sometimes it's about things out in the "real world." Counseling, on the other hand is about personal, relationship or "mental health" stuff. Counseling is also about dealing with significant emotionally or psychologically oriented coping and healing.

In simple terms, coaching is about figuring out how to start your business, develop your career, write your first book or get back to school and get your masters or just finish your degree. It might also be about finding a balance between life and work or sorting out your values and spirituality.

On the other hand, counseling is intended to develop a healthy relationship, to work through trauma, deeper personal, relationship or family issues and to find ways to handle difficult thoughts and feelings. It's also the place to deal with anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD and other psychological things that get labels.

If you're still not sure what you want or what you need an introductory session can help you sort it out.
